EASTERBROOK from Leitrim, Ireland

Jane, William, and Thomas are siblings from Leitrim. In 1881 William and Thomas are barmen working in the Half Moon and 7 Stars public house in St George Street in the East End of London. Jane's husband is the landlord.

In 1901, Thomas has taken over the running of the Half Moon and is assisted by his nieces Ann Easterbrook and Mary Reely both from Leitrim.

Henry EASTERBROOK and Catherine WATTS of Poplar

Henry is son of John and Sarah of Shobrooke and moved to Poplar where he married Catherine WATTS of Stoke Albany, Northamptonshire.

EASTERBROOK of Deptford

John EASTERBROOK and Helen PITT of Stepney

John was born in Barnstaple, Devon, married Helen in Mile End and lived in Stepney.

John EASTERBROOK and Sarah of Poplar

John and Sarah, both born in Ashburton, moved to Poplar where their last two children were born. Their descendants all lived in the Poplar/Millwall area.

John is the son of John and Elizabeth STOOKE of Bristol.

Walter Ernest died of sickness 20/Apr/1919 in the Great War. He is buried in the Rangoon War Cemetery

The next 2 generations, of which I only have a single line, were born and lived in Stepney. George and Mary's children, Mary, James, and Harry, were all born in Deptford.

I have only found a marriage and children for Harry George.

Harry and Jane's Family

Harry John married Catherine, I cannot find any children and they seem to be living apart by 1881.

Edmund Morris I believe died young.

Eleanor (b1842) had an illegitimate son William Henry, then she married John ORDER. William Henry took the surname ORDER as a child but reverted back to EASTERBROOK when he married.

Fanny Mary married Francis DELAMAINE. Francis also had a son born before he married Fanny.

James Matthew married Frances Sophia CROOK and had 11 children.

I have no more information on Elizabeth Jane, George Edmund, or Mathew (Mathew probably died young).

I cannot find any trace of this family after 1871.

George Edward died 18/Feb/1944 in the World War II. He is honoured on the Portsmouth Naval Memorial

Edwin is the son of Mayer Ingram of Westminster.

John enlisted in 1895 to the Border Regiment of Infantry, but deserted after a week.
