He was previously married to Mary with a son John born in Lidford, Devon and who remained at Lizwell Farm with his grandparents when George moved to Wolverhampton where he married Elizabeth. Elizabeth had two children from a previous marriage who lived with George and Elizabeth and their children.

Frederick John died during the Great War and is mentioned in the Wolverhampton Roll of Honour:

Easterbrook Frederick John Private 39960 3rd Bn. Worcestershire Regiment Son of Edward and Hannah Easterbrook, of Wolverhampton. Died - 06 August, 1917. Aged - 28. Memorial - Brandhoek New Military Cemetery, Vlamertinghe - Ieper, West-Vlaanderen, Belgium IV. E. 5.

There is also a memorial at Brandhoek new military cemetery.
